Rembrandt
Rembrandt Harmensz Van Rijn was a very famous artist in the early 1600's. He was born in 1606, the sixth child in his family. He went to the Latin school until he was fourteen years old. He was already becoming a good painter by then. He then became an independent worker for 7 years and in 1632 he was very well known. His first big job was to paint a picture for the Surgeon's Guild of Amsterdam. They wanted him to make a group portrait, which was known as The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp. He then moved to Amsterdam and lived there the rest of his life.
