Snakes are some of the most deadly but fascinating animals on earth. Some can kill with only one bite of its venomous fangs while others coil around and suffocate. Although only about one quarter of all snakes are deadly to us, they all have their own special adaptations that they use to survive.
Snakes use special killing tactics to help them get prey or eliminate predators. One class of snake that doesn't use venom is the boa constrictor. It falls in the family of Boidae, which consist of boas and pythons. The boa constrictor (boa constrictor) is a massive snake that can weigh up to several hundred pounds and grows to lengths over twenty feet. The largest snake in the world is a Burmese Python which is twenty-seven feet long. The boa doesn't have venom, but kills with its coils.
