Zimbabwe is a country located in the southern part of Africa. It took its name from the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which lies near Masvingo. The capital city of Zimbabwe is Harare, and its population is 12,576,742. Zimbabwe became officially independent in 18 April 1980. This rich country now is facing a lot of economic and political crisis led by its Prime Minister Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
Zimbabwe's political and economic crisis must be laid at the feet of president Mugabe. When he first became the prime minister of Zimbabwe, approximately 4,000 descendants of white settlers owned approximately 70% of the country's arable land. However, he reassured white landowners that they had nothing to fear from black majority rule and urged them to stay in Zimbabwe. After twenty years as Zimbabwe's leader, he remains in power. His manic and senseless policies have led what was known once a rich country to ruin, and now his agrarian policy is set to become a lasting disaster, as the one remaining staple of Zimbabwe's economy is destroyed...
