20 years ago cordless phones brought a pleasant change in the way we used our telephone. With a cordless in hand it was no more necessary to be close to a telephone set while you answer or use it. It liberated the phone users from the telephone cord and provided a carte blanche to do other things while attending a telephone. Over the years the quality of cordless has improved tremendously and it has become so ubiquitous today that nobody would talk about it, well as one did 20 year back.
History repeats itself! Intel's XScale technology [ Intel XScale technology-based processor ] has given rise to a so-called Smart Display which allows you to detach it from your PC, go to another room and still be able to access applications and data on your PC. Amazing! It is light enough to be carried around the house. It has given rise to a new style of net surfing; 'sofa surfing', you can surf & check your email while sitting on a sofa with your better half watching their favorite TV shows.
