Dance Critique
The Glimpse of India performance was a very nonchalant, casual show and not very professional at all, but nonetheless thoroughly entertaining. There were a total of nine items, with comedic MCs in between each item. The one thing I thought should have been eliminated was the singer because it did not fit in with the rest of the dance numbers
One of the dance performances which was one of my favorites was the one titled 'Fusionz.' I at first did not understand what point they were trying to portray until mid performance. What they did was, took classical Indian dancing, 'modern' Indian dancing, bhangra (a type of dancing), and modern to make a mix of different types of dancing all dancing at once. I thought it was a unique idea but they could have tried to make it more obvious of their concept, perhaps by using a skit.
I didn't have a least favorite, but there were three that stood out, and that was mainly because I liked their expressions on their faces and they were lip-singing (it's a 'must' for Bollywood dances). Even if the choreography wasn't the greatest, their expressions made up for that.
As I said earlier, this was a very simple, casual show, so there were no strobe lights or any 'fancy' effects like that. I thought the costumes could use some improvements...
