Buddhism and Brahmanism may have had an influence on Plato's theory on Idealism. Research on this topic has made some believe that it did have an influence. First, the belief in a god was contributed. Second, the idea that man is caught in the trap of the body was contributed. Finally, the idea that the soul had a role in mans life was contributed.
The belief in a god was one thing that was contributed to Plato's theory of Idealism. Brahmanism contributed to this because they believed in a god and a heaven. Plato took these ideas and put them into his theory of Idealism. Buddhism took a part by believing in monotheism, that you can only believe in one god, and you can only worship one. One could worship either Brahma, the creator of the world, Shiva, the destroyer of the world, and Vishnu, the preserver of the world...
