Introduction
Background and purpose of the report
Indigenous people experience substantial economic disadvantage in the areas of wealth, employment and income in comparison with other Australians. In part, this disadvantage is due to a legacy of limited employment opportunities, a history of working for rations rather than wages, educational disadvantage and location barriers. This report is about "Barriers for Indigenous people when seeking employment." The purpose of this report is to show readers the hardship that Indigenous people go through when looking for employment and to provide information and recommendations. I have chosen this as my report topic as I feel it is an issue that needs to be dealt with to help out the Indigenous community.
Source of information
There were many sources of information used. These are mainly websites and the Australian Indigenous Studies study material. The websites were very useful and there was a large and diverse range of information and I had to be careful which information I used. A lot of the sites provided a lot of facts and figures and I compared these and decided which of these I wanted to provide in this report. The evidence of these sites and authors of material will be provided in the bibliography...
