Multinational enterprises pose no threat to
Canada's economic and cultural sovereignty. We
gain a greater awareness of other cultures by
having businesses from other countries come into
Canada. Multinational enterprises help Canada's
economy grow by increasing competitiveness and
gaining new markets, none of which affects
Canada's sovereignty.
Multinational enterprises help our country's economy. Businesses from Canada expand to new
and larger markets, leading to increased sales
and profits for those Canadian companies selling
their products around the world, resulting in
more jobs being created for Canadians at home
and abroad. Multinational enterprises
establishing companies in Canada create jobs for Canadians, expanding our work force. The influx
of money into our economy boosts the economy and
expands our tax base. Both scenarios have the
effect of expanding the Canadian work force,
decreasing the unemployment rate, which in turn
results in more disposable income returning to
the Canadian economy.
The work force now has more buying power,
and the resultant upswing in the economy will
give the consumer more confidence than they would
have in depressed market conditions. When the
Canadian economy is on an upswing, the consumer
will spend more disposable income on purchasing
a wider variety of goods and luxury items,
returning that income back into the economy,
which in turn keeps the cycle of increased
sales and profits, creating the need for more
jobs, revolving...
