Huck Finn
Huck Finn is the main character in the novel. He is a 13-year-old boy with a bright mind. He came from a broken home; his mother is dead and he has a drunker and abusive father. Even though Huck hates his father, he also learned some lessons from him "If I never learnt nothing else out of Pap, I learnt that the best way to get along with this kind of people is to let them have their own way" (125). Huck lives on his own and he is considered to be a practical person. Huck is not normally educated but he uses his common sense and skills to survive.
Huck is important in the novel because he represents a symbol of social change. Huck's views toward Jim are transformed into awareness of Jim's equality. Huck is also a symbol of a growing up person. He is also a symbol of social change in United Sates in pre-civil war...
