On a hot muggy summer day in Taiwan in my seventh grade year, my father brought me to his office. It was a rather large room, larger then my room at home. He wanted me to sit in a chair in one corner to watch him at work. I did not realize why he had brought me, but I was glad to be there. I had never been in his office before, and I was very curious about what my father did in this large room. Before long, a gentleman in a dark navy suit came into the room and shook hands with my father. I did not know who the person was, but he had to be very important since my father smiled at and hugged him. I hardly ever saw my serious father smile at home.
