This essay is on the current situation involving the world trade organization. It is impossible to say that the World Trade Organization is not responsible for a large majority of our world problems such as debt, forced trade, and poverty. There laws put the rich first and the poor last. But to fully understand the reason the world got this way you will have to go back to the start of the problems, colonial imperialism.
In short, there was a race between the most prosperous countries to spread their empires further with colonies, these are regions politically controlled by a distant country. While the imperial powers where controlling these countries they extracted much wealth in the form of resources and slaves back to Europe. This left the countries without resources, and without a labour force to work. As the wealth flowed to the imperial powers, their economies got richer and they began spending their newly acquired wealth on boosting their economies into the industrial revolution.
The industrial revolution was a turning point in Europe's economy, before the revolution people sustained themselves by growing crops and living off of the land, when the industrial revolution came about the farms were replaced with factories. Instead of living off of the land people were forced to move to large cities and seek labor for a small sum of money, used to pay for food and shelter...
