The Power of Guilt
Guilt is a powerful emotion that can control most of our lives. For instance, if you pilfer from someone's locker, you are left with feelings of guilt because you know you did something wrong. would you do this if you knew it was wrong. On the other hand you may feal guilt for something on a smaller scale like forgetting to get your girlfriend a birthday present. Guilt has many different levels of intensity and not all are as demorilizing as another.
About a week ago on a Thursday my baseball bat, glove, and sweats were stolen from my athletic locker. On Friday the only assumption that the coaches and I could make was that I must not have locked it completly. For the rest of that day I was appaled at the idea that someone would be diabolical enough to purloin my personal belongings. I had a nagging dread of how I was going to tell my parents what happened because I didn't know how they would react. I manly dreaded it because I knew it was so negative...
