Hello my name is Peiter Brueghel, the Elder. I am here at the Renaissance Ball being held in honor of the Guild of Painters with my wife Mayken I am very excited to be debuting my new painting titled Peasant Wedding (show painting) As you can see from this painting, I enjoy creating stories through my paintings that depict realistic peasant life. I apprenticed under Pieter van Aelst in Brussels. Peiter is an artist, sculptor, architect and designer of tapestries. I then moved to Italy and traveled throughout Italy and joined the St. Lukas Guild. On my way back home I stopped off in Switzerland. When I returned home to Antwerp, I also married Peiter Coecke van Aelst's daughter Mayken. We have two children Jan "Velvet" and Pieter the younger. I work for a publishing house where I design engravings and create my own paintings...
