I learned about the New Jersey Institute of Technology from one of my dad's close friends. He showed me the path that he took to studying in state, and not only that, but he also showed me the benefits of NJIT's accelerated 7-year pre-professional programs. I would like to be considered for NJIT's 7-year BS/MD program joint with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. I believe that even though I do not meet the minimum requirements of the programs SAT score, that I can contribute much more that what my SAT number may show. My score of 1380 on the SAT 1's is only short of the minimum requirements by a mere 20 points. Standardized tests can only measure a person's test taking ability, not the educational character of the person himself. I believe I am more then what my SAT score may seem because sure I could have spent more time studying more for that test, but instead I chose to spend my time doing something that I thought was more useful.
Last year, I studied the multiple AP sciences of Biology and Physics and my knowledge of these subjects is credited by my AP scores of a five and a four respectively. I have an in-depth knowledge of biology and physics and these two subjects are now my intellectual passions. I am currently performing independent research in the area of biochemical engineering...
