This science fair project is based around the affects of soil pH levels on the growth of Lima beans. ... Like most other plants, the Lima bean’s optimal soil pH for maximum development is around 7. They have been known to grow in pH levels around 7 also. In the growth and development of all plants, specific pH levels are needed to help the plant gather nutrients from the soil they are growing in. ... The amount of nutrients obtained, therefore, is dependant on the pH level of the soil it is growing in. Based on these results, I hypothesize that the Lima beans growing in neutral soil will grow the most.
