Our everyday life is perpetually invaded by all sorts of advertisements. They flood our radios, they interrupt our pleasure when we are watching an interesting television programme, they fill in whole pages of our newspapers; they are everywhere on our roads and in commercial centres; they are the first things that appear on our screen when we open a web page. Most of the time we do not pay any attention to them. However we have to ask ourselves the question: "Does such a proliferation of advertising serve any purpose?" We have to admit anyway that their ever-increasing presence is a proof in itself that their usefulness cannot be questioned.
The main objective of advertising a product or a service is to make it known to the public and potential clients. This applies particularly to new ones. Without publicity, information and ideas cannot be disseminated. There is a commercial aspect in the sense that the fate of a company will probably depend on its marketing strategies.
