With the improvement of human beings living quality, people are living longer and longer, sometimes longer against their willing. Euthanasia, a word not often heard of suddenly has made the headlines frequently. The term euthanasia comes from the Greek and means good death. Websters Dictionary defines it as a quiet and easy death or the action of inducing a quiet and easy death. (Pojman L. 2000). It is an act of putting to death painlessly a person suffering from an incurable and painful disease. In the nationwide discussion, many people suggest that the family and doctors should respect the death decision made by a terminally ill patient. It is claimed that this measure is also an action to raise the quality of human life. But I argue that euthanasia, even if voluntary, should not be legalized because of reasons in following aspects: emotional and financial problems, mistaken diagnoses and future development in medical treatment...
