First of all I would like to say that I am a very strict believer in our first amendment rights. I believe that we should have the right to speech, press and to express ourselves in whatever way we want, so long as it is in a peaceable manner. These are part of our freedoms inherently endowed to us by the constitution, it is the very principle that our country is founded upon, Freedom!
I believe these truths whole-heartedly. That is why I am fully backing the efforts to the proposed Demonstration, next Friday afternoon. If you are unaware let me just tell you a little bit about what is going on. A dozen or so citizens applied for a permit for a rally next Friday afternoon. The rally will include speeches about unpopular decisions passed by the government, including flyers being distributed, and the burning of an American flag as a demonstration of their enragement, at the close of the rally.
These people have every right to have their rally, nothing wrong is being done, and they have even applied for the permits so everything to be "legal". Members of the city committee agree with everything, but the flag burning, and the decision for the permit is still up in the air...
