The goal of the study was to assess bone mass in girls influenced by central precocious puberty subsequent to therapy with GnRHa with or without calcium addition, who have attained ultimate height. This aimed to establish if GnRHa therapy harms the reaching of sufficient bone mass at growth completion and if calcium addition enhanced bone mass in females treated with GnRHa.
Results indicated that there was no statistical difference in body mass index, fat percentage or densitometric values compared to controls, however bone mass achievement appeared to be maintained better in females with additional calcium.
