This essay is concerned with collective bargaining. In response to each of the questions posed, the material covered will be split into three sections. Initially a description of collective bargaining will be given with a brief summary and background exploring what collective bargaining is. A substantial part of this essay will be devoted to comparing a centralised system of collective bargaining with a decentralised system and a comparison of the two. The last section of the essay will compose of a summary of the changes that have taken place in collective bargaining since 1980. The aim of the study is to gain a wider understanding of what collective bargaining is and its significance within the employment relationship today.
