Imagine running as fast as you can into a wall. You'd expect to get pretty banged up right? Do you think that you could stop yourself inches away from the wall? No you can't, and that is the situation that you face when the front of your car hits something at only 15mph. The car stops in the first tenth of a second, but you keep on at the same rate you were going in the car until something stops you; the steering wheel, dashboard or windshield, if you're not wearing your safety belt that is.
Each year, 40,000 people die in car accidents; which is the leading cause of death for people under the age of 35. Data suggests that education alone is not doing the whole job with young people, especially males' ages 16 to 25. They seem to think that they will not be injured or killed by not wearing one. Safety belts can prevent death in almost half of theses traffic-related incidents. If you already know this and are still not wearing one, you may need to ask yourself why not...
