Every morning when Amanda wakes up she feels neither happy nor sad. Her medication has left her moods and feelings paralyzed. Life hasn't been the same on her medication, but she no longer lives in fear of what mood she will wake up in. She now knows she will wake up every morning feeling the same way rather than falling asleep fearful of how she may feel when she awakes. Life with bipolar disease can be taxing and difficult. The disease's wide range of moods and symptoms cannot be easily tamed and only can get worse if not picked up on early or treated properly.
Bipolar Disease is a very obvious mental disorder to see the symptoms of. Bipolar Disease is characterized by bouts of depression followed by periods of mania. Signs of depression are a sad state of being, a low self-esteem, lack of interest in anything, concentration problems, excessive sleep, and a change in appetite. These problems can be persistent for days and up to months at a time...
