Discursive Essay
The issue of the media and celebrities is one of great dispute and interest. In my own opinion celebrities should accept the media and public attention to a certain extent. Sometimes the paparazzi can be very intrusive and will do anything for that money-making picture. Then again celebrities can be very calculating when it comes to media attention and often manipulate it to suit their own desires. If it wasn't for the amount of media and public interest that celebrities get they would not have the status they have today.
"Fame's not always what it's cracked up to be.", A favourite quote of many stars.
I agree with this statement. Publicity and fame can put all kinds of pressures on celebrities. Women often feel pressured to look good at all times and stay slim and in some cases, like Gerri Halliwell, can lead to eating disorders...
