This research paper will analyze exterior insulating finish systems (EIFS). These types of systems have been used on over 350,000 buildings world wide (Dry-Vit). Since the introduction of exterior insulation systems there have been many changes in the process of installation and many advances in material quality. These advances have made these systems one of the premier exterior finish systems available today. These systems offer a great decorative appearance along with superior moisture, impact, and wind protection. They also add up to 5 R value to a walls insulating capability (Dry-Vit). Because of the flexibilities in the style of appearance, the great performance, and the added insulating values the system provides, these systems are an asset to the construction industry.
