"According to the British Lung Foundation, smoking three marijuana joints a day is the equivalent of smoking twenty cigarettes. Tobacco is already the cause of death for twenty percent of the people in the developed world. Legalizing something six times deadlier than the cause of death of one fifth of the world's population would be a terrible mistake.
The city of Amsterdam legalized drugs and now blames eighty percent of all property crime on marijuana addicts. In the nation's capitol, ninety percent of child abusers are also illicit drug users. California decriminalized marijuana in 1976, and, within the first six months arrests for driving under the influence of marijuana rose 71.4 percent for juveniles. China legalized opium earlier this century. That decision resulted in ninety million addicts and it took a half-century to repair the damage. These numbers show that legalizing marijuana will increase the number of users, and, eventually, the number of deaths...
