History
The history of Taco Bell began after WWII, when the economy was changing to a peaceful pursuit. The economy would be expending quickly in 5 years and everyone wanted a piece of the action. Glen Bell, an ex-marine corp. was only 23 when the war ended, but he was ambitious and wanted to start his own business. He wasn't sure what to get into; he knew the market would be in need of recreational activities, since most vanished during the war. His first idea was to have a mini-golf course, but he soon realized he couldn't afford it. He decided to go for something that his pocket book can handle, which was a hot dog stand. He named the hot dog stand Bell's Drive in and learned the about the business operations through his day-to-day operations. He sold his hot dog stand in 1952 as he began to pursue a vision he had mastered in his head. In his vision he would feature both hamburgers and hot dogs...
