Abstract:
We did this lab to determine if plastic bags are selectively permeable. We first filled two beakers with 100ml of iodine each. We then filled a plastic bag with 100ml of starch, and then we filled a plastic bag with 100ml of water. We observed the color of the iodine, starch, and water. After we made our observations, we put the bag of starch in one beaker of iodine and then put the bag of water in the other beaker of iodine. We left them in there for thirty minutes. After the thirty minutes, we took the bags out of the beakers of iodine. The bag filled with starch was a purple/blue color and the bag with the water was an orange/yellow color.
