The Ancient Egypt civilization came to existence 5,000 years ago (3,100 BC.) in the north eastern region of Africa where the northern area was bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. It consisted of two areas of land lining both sides of the Nile River, which was the center of the Egyptians lives. Ancient Egypt wouldn't have been a successful civilization without the Nile River, because it provided food, communication, transportation, and many other helpful uses. Ancient Egypt is known for its government, agriculture, religious beliefs, and writing.
Ancient Egypt's government was controlled by hereditary rulers. The kings were called Pharaohs, and they dedicated their lifetime to maintain a stable civilization. They were in charge of the land and the army. Pharaohs were considered to be humankind's link to the gods, and they were also viewed and worshiped as a god themselves. Under the Pharaoh were the high priest and priestesses who gave advice to the Pharaoh, managed temples, and maintained schools...
