The Fall of a Heroine
Thomas Hardy is an English novelist and poet who lived from 1840 to 1928. These years intersect with the late Victorian period. In this period, the conception of the novelists changed. The idea of perfectly unified plot became important.Unusual, intrigue events gave way to events that are related to one another with a cause and effect relationship. The characters are no more grotesque but they are realistic, they are not types, but individuals. The novels no longer end happily. They are not romantic.
