Is Capital Punishment The Right Answer?
April 19, 1995, twenty three year old Julie Welch died along with 167 innocent people in the Oklahoma City Bombing. "I'm opposed to the death penalty" says Bud Welch, Julie's father. "It's vengeance that doesn't do my heart any good."
You may hear people say things like "what if your mother was brutally raped and murdered, wouldn't you want that person to die?" of course I would want them to die for what they did. But, capital punishment does not exist to serve the victims or the victims family and friends. It exists to serve our society. But, my question is, does capital punishment really do what it is supposed to? Through my research, I have found that the answer is, most definitely, no...
