Gun Control
The banning of guns in America also known as gun control has been a hot and controversial issue over the past decades. Looking at both sides of gun control and understanding them will allow someone to have a better perspective and an opinion on the subject. After someone reads expert opinions on both sides of gun control, banning guns would seem time consuming, wrong, and unconstitutional. Banning guns would help nothing it would just take away from everyone and everything.
After reading Gun Control, Restricting Rights or Protecting People, by Storm Thurmound, it is easy to see why the United States should not ban guns. Storm Thurmound is a United States Senator, and is a much respected person concerning the issue of gun control. He made a statement supporting his side of the argument on January 5, 1995, Thurmound said, "Let me first say that I support our constitutional right to own firearms under the second amendment"(151). Thurmound believes that there should not be new laws, but some restrictions could help. For example, to keep Americans safe from convicted felons or people who have been committed into a mental institute from owning or using guns in any way. This really could sway someone to believe in the same way as him by showing that he doe not just have from one perspective...
