The first thing that I noticed when I opened this book was that it is dedicated to Harper Lee, author of 'To Kill A Mocking Bird'
I. The Last To See Them Alive:
In the first quarter/chapter of this book , I was introduced to the unique writing style of Truman Capote. The way he writes is intriguing, how he carefully describes every detail without rambling. The Clutter family Is introduced to you in a way that helps you to understand and personally connect with each character. The lifestyles of Dick Hickock and Perry Smith gave me a 50s criminal/gangster feel for them (Getting out of jail and meeting up to plan for the 'perfect score'). I found it creative how the story followed the two partners until the murder of the Clutters, and you don't get the details on the murder until you read from the investigators' perspective
II. Persons Unknown:
This chapter led me to believe that Mr. Hickock and Mr. Smith had committed the perfect crime, leaving no clues, except foot prints, which meant nothing. The whole murder was planned, and thought out professionally...
