There are endless trials and tribulations in anyone’s life, yet even with the challenges there is so much good that can come from those trials. Samuel Johnson captured the essence of life when he said, “Life is a progress from want to want, not from enjoyment to enjoyment.” There are endless amounts of wants that can in turn make us better people because of the goals and determination that stems from those particular desires. For as long as I can remember, my dad has pressured me to make good grades and push myself to do whatever possible to get scholarships so I could go to college and be self-sufficient.
