Lexmark International Inc. is officially in the computer hardware industry (Lexmark, 2003), where the company is a strong competitor of printing solutions. They produce a range of different computer printers from dot matrixes and color laser printers to all-in-one combination printers that also function as scanners and fax machines. Lexmark began as a defensive strategy by IBM in response to its competitors in the market during the late 1980's.
