Beauty is defined as the quality or qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit, but what does this really mean? Is beauty nothing more than a series of visuals that key the mind to give it pleasure? Is a veneer of aesthetics applicable to any noun? Is it an internal glow sought out by in a search for companionship? Or is it truly, as so often said, in the eye of the beholder? I don't know, but here are some really pointless thoughts on the matter of physical beauty for lack of a better direction.
Concepts of physical beauty have evolved and changed over years and distance but it's cultural importance is a global fact. Beauty was originally an indication of health, it was a clear and present symbol of the potential of a mate. In ancient times natural physical beauty was the marker, and it actually was representative of a woman or a man's potential as a biological parent. But as man and his culture developed things changed...
