Snake eyes Introduction This essay shall be based around advertising in the form of film trailers I shall be especially focusing on the advertisement for Snake Eyes the movie. I shall be looking at all aspects of the advert the lighting and the way the colours are chosen. In this advert they tend to use orange and red colours in at least every other frame of the advert and the frames move between each other very quickly. The location of the advert is completely based indoors so the lighting is all-artificial. The frames are short so it makes you think that the movie is very fast and exciting, they use bright oranges and reds so it attracts your attention and the colours tend to mean danger and to beware. Then to stir the scene up a bit more they chuck in some voice-overs with a dark and mysterious voice saying things like ‘don’t always trust what you see’ so you can not be completely sure of what it means so there is mystery involved as well they really try to draw you in before you even see any of the pictures involved in the movie.
