Substance Abuse By Teenagers
Substance abuse in general has always been a problem. For as long as there have been drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, there have been people who have used them in excess or abused them. This gave birth to the never ending battle of the "War on Drugs". Substance abuse affects people of all ages. However, recently we have seen a sharp rise in the amount of substance abuse among teenagers. There are many reasons for substance abuse. The most common reasons for substance abuse among teenagers are peer pressure, depression, and genetic predisposition.
One of the most common reasons that teenagers fall victim to substance abuse is peer pressure. The pressure to fit in and obligation to be cool plays a big part in it. Teenagers will often use drugs even if they don't want to, in order to feel like part of the crowd...
