Nanotechnology is the science of very small things called Nanoparticles - about a thousand times smaller than micro. It is a branch of engineering that deals with the design and manufacture of extremely small electronics circuits and mechanical devices built at the molecular level of matter. This was first advanced by-"Richard Feynman" in 1959.
The small size of Nanoparticle itself is of great potential benefit because Nanoparticles have large surface-to-volume ratios, and composites made of Nanoparticles can better retain the best properties of their constituents. This property of Nanoparticles will revolutionalize the human lives in next 15-20 years.
Nanotechnology is expected to touch almost every aspect of our lives, right down to the water we drink and the air we breathe. Space will also be open in new ways. It could achieve all manners of wonders.
Experimental work has already resulted in the production of molecular tweezers, carbon nanotube transistor and logic gate. Theoretical work is progressing as well...
