A national holiday is a holy day of freedom from labor, set aside by law, that is observed throughout a nation. National Holidays commemorate people. They recognize historical events. National holidays also honor people. National holidays celebrate the significant events and important ideas of a nation.
National holidays celebrate the significant events and important ideas of a nation by commemorating the people that helped mold America into what she is today. The people that helped mold America into what she is today are presidents, influential leaders, and soldiers who have died for her.
