Studying the brain and how we act, psychology helps to determine why we do the things we do and why we feel the way we feel. Performing experiments, partaking in studies, and creating theories are all forms of psychological research. Psychology provides us with six different theories. Each theory gives a reasoning to why people act and think the way that they do. These theories are the neurobiological approach, behavioral approach, humanistic approach, psychoanalytic approach, cognitive approach, and sociocultural approach. The neurobiological approach is an approach upon which a lot of research can be conducted. This approach states that behavior is a result of nervous system functions and biology. Through this approach illnesses can be cured with medications because the brain is sending forth reasons for feeling down which can be taken care of by the medicine.
