Huck Finn Controversies Some schools have banned The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn due to the content, however many book shave debatable content and the should not ban this American classic just because of some words. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, written by Mark Twain, is a very controversial book that should be allowed in all schools. They should not ban the book because it is and American classic that shows the depth of a great American writer. Another reason why they shouldn’t ban the book is because The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a great example of how life was during that time period and shows how African Americans were treated at that time. Schools, such as Minnetonka, that do have The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn on their reading lists have been very pleased with the outcome of student opinions.
