The United States prides it's self in being the freest nation in the world. Individual freedom is our cornerstone. We are also one of the richest Countries in the world. We have the largest amount of resources, both natural and manufactured, but yet we allocate the smallest percentage of our assets on social welfare programs of any Country in the western, industrial world. The idea that it should be mandatory for a women to be required to be on birth control while receiving welfare, or any social benefits in this Country is just plain wrong.
Mandatory birth control for women truly violates women's civil rights. The State has no right under the Constitution to require such an invasion of its citizens' personal lives. When the Supreme Court ruled on Roe vs. Wade, their decision gave women a right to decide what they can or can not do with their own bodies, regarding reproduction. That same court also ruled against the Common Wealth of Virginia, when it involuntarily sterilized mental patients and other people they deemed unfit to reproduce...
