John Grisham's persuasive essay, Unnatural Killers, effectively proposed his contemplation of how media violence can alter a person's psychological mind of judgment. The two teenage lovers in his essay, Sarah and Ben, went on a rampage on a killing spree after seeing the movie "Natural Born Killers", directed by Oliver Stone. Grisham stated that the movie "is a repulsive story of two mindless young lovers who blaze their way across the Southwest, killing everything in their path while becoming famous. The two murderers were very comparable to the two characters that played in the movie. The movie not only inspired Ben and Sarah to go on this copycat crime, but there were also other cases that have been reported in which random killings were done by dilemmatic juvenile teenagers who were all under the influence of the movie according to Grisham's essay. John Grisham's essay shows how effectively the movie can be relevant in the case where Sarah and Ben murders two innocent victims and changed their family's lives including their own.
Grisham's technique of writing this persuasive essay has an excellent foundation. His essay begins with the audience having knowledge of the background information of the crime Ben and Sarah committed. It effectively summarizes to his audience how the two teenage lovers went on a rampage killing two innocent victims.
