The midterms will each cover material discussed up through the exam (as announced); the final exam will be comprehensive. While you are expected to take all three exams, only the better of the two midterm grades will be counted towards the course grade (with a weight of 40%). The final exam (60%) will be comprehensive. Bring a Scantron to each exam.
All exam dates are announced at the beginning of the quarter to allow you to plan accordingly. (In particular, you should consider final exam dates and any possible conflicts with other exams or personal commitments when planning your class schedule.) While early, late, or "make-up" exams will not be administered, I fully understand that missing an exam may be unavoidable in cases of serious illness or equally serious personal difficulties. It is to allow for these contingencies that one midterm will be disregarded. Should a second midterm or the final exam be missed, a grade of zero will be recorded unless you meet the requirements for receiving a grade of Incomplete.
