EBay is the leading global online marketplace for the sale of goods and services by a diverse community of individuals and businesses. The eBay community includes millions of registered users. EBay is facing a serious challenge. Its business was growing so fast that it threatened to its existing technology architecture in areas of scalability and maintainability. At the same time, eBay was exploring new marketplace models to supplement its traditional auction model and found that its infrastructure was not flexible enough to support its new initiatives and its long-term strategy of becoming a marketplace that supported all models of commerce.
To better understanding e-business, well analyze eBays current performance to identify its current challenges and successful factors. This will provide a reference for eBays current strategy. Also, well give some suggestions to eBay based on its current situation and the trends of industry and technology.
We believe that eBays superior marketplace will be expected to expand, become largely recognized at the global level.
