The future of the internet is a topic that many people have been wondering about. There are already a lot of people on the internet some 200 million, and the number is estimated to grow to the billions in 2004 to 2006. (Cerf, 2003) So where's the internet headed? There are many factors that contribute to the future of the internet, including: population size, businesses on the internet, and of course the advancement of the internet.
First, the internet was thought of as a tool for everybody to use. Knowing no boundaries, this tool would let everybody across the world communicate with each other, without actually having to be in the same room. With the invention of chat rooms, and email people were able to do just that. Today, people are able to discuss their favorite hobbies, interests , and anything else you can think of. From all the possibilities of the internet, I think that the main goal and the most important factor that makes it so appealing is the ability to communicate. Just think about the many different things that people can do online...
