There are many things to be learnt from this film; such as the identity of the
people, the Aboriginal culture, the migration of Europeans and the violation
of Aboriginal human rights and what happened to the Indigenous people in
the past.
I learnt that at the time the Australian Government mistreated the Aboriginal
population, much similar to how the American Government use to treat their
natives. I learnt that the Australian Government felt at the time obliged or in
charge of the Aboriginal welfare.
I learnt that the movie dealt with "half - castes". Meaning through some
Aboriginal generations people would lose their skin tone, and become
almost 'half - white' and 'half - black'. Also that the half - castes were taken
away by the white people under the orders of the government, to far away
places from their homes, to much like boarding school and orphanages. And
that eventually they would end up being maids in white people households.
I learnt that Aborigines are very in touch with their surroundings. They
believe that animals are very important, and they believe that they do not
own the land, the land owns them.
I also learnt that a fence was constructed which became the longest fence
on the Earth...
