The standards of physical beauty that are socially accepted are neither absolute, nor steady. On the contrary a variety of standard prototypes of beauty have evolved through history, and this evolution is very profound. When we turn the pages of an art book, we can see that the pictures, that have naked women, who posed, as a models of great beauty in 1600's are profoundly different from those models of beauty today. For example the corpulent females appearing in Peter Paul Ruben's painting are quite different from models of beauty display in modern publications.
The physical image has a big influence in our life. An example, of this influence is, the way in which we perceive ourselves. How do we feel in our bodies and with our bodies?. Our sense of Beauty is something that is learned and is constantly changing.
Once we think we are about to achieve the ideal of beauty in this time, we are confronted with more changes, and more trends. Appreciation of beauty in my opinion is a never-ending process..
