It seems the world, throughout all of history, has in some way been separated by racial lines. Many wars have been fought, and millions have died, simply because of the color of their skin, the basis of their religion, or the place where they were born. What use is racism except to vent anger from one person and inflict pain on someone else? Racism has never served a decent function anywhere in the world, it has only led to death and destruction. Racism is a plague that has brought nothing but hate and separation to a potentially great place. "I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality.... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word."(MLK) Racism is defined in The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language as "the notion that one's ethnic stock is superior to another's" It is this attitude which fuels hate not only between races, but tribes, religions, and territories as well.
