"A 29-year-old South Georgia woman has been charged with five counts of vehicular homicide, drunken driving, driving on the wrong side of roadway and reckless driving in an accident that killed five children riding an all-terrain vehicle" (News4Jax.com). This incident would probably have been avoided if the driver of the car had not been under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol has many negative effects on driving. I do not believe there are any positive effects that alcohol can provide when driving.
Alcohol definitely impairs your reaction speed. In effect, "the brain works inefficiently, taking longer to receive messages from the eye; processing information becomes more difficult and instructions to the muscles are delayed. Alcohol can slow down reaction time by 10 to 30 per cent. It also reduces ability to perform two or more tasks at the same time" (Indiacar.com)...
